Although the Extraordinary Jubilee Year has concluded, we are still living in a “time of mercy.”

JUBILEE OF MERCY

mercy and peace
Just as we prepare our hearts and homes to receive guests at Christmas, we prepare to receive friends and family at Annunciation. Below are some ways our church community prepares to receive and welcome guests. Last year, over 40 volunteers worked behind the scenes to prepare the church for Christmas. That doesn’t even count the army of liturgical ministers needed for each Mass.
Singers are invited to join our Christmas music ministry. Rehearsal is December 18th (12:30 - 2:30 for the 8:00 & 10:00 choirs and 2:30 - 4:30 for the 4:00 pm choir). People interested in singing with the 6:00 pm choir can contact Connie O’Connor-Duff and those interested in singing Christmas Day can contact Janet Warren.
Date: Saturday, December 24th, 2015 and Sunday, December 25th
Time: Christmas Eve at all the masses: 4:00, 6:00, 8:00, & 10:00 and Christmas Morning at 11:00am
Where: Church & Narthex.
What: The welcoming team will distribute our Christmas gift to our visitor as well as assist with greeting and creating a welcoming and joyful environment for our parish family and guests.
Hospitality: Just as a host attends to the needs of visitors, our welcoming team will assist the ushers, the liturgy team and the pastors to ensure that everyone who comes to Christmas mass will be greeted and welcomed.
Date: Saturday, December 24th, 2016
Time: Christmas Eve at the 4:00 & 6:00 masses
Where: Church parking lot.
What: The parking team will joyfully facilitate the entering, parking and exiting of our parish parking lot.
Hospitality: Just as a host welcomes visitors at the door, our parking team will help direct people to the celebration of Jesus’ birth.
As Missionary Disciples of Annunciation parish, we want to reach out to our friends and neighbours so that they can Rediscover Jesus this Christmas. There are several parish initiatives that you can participate in. firstname.lastname@example.org
Each angel ornament represents a child from our community. Please prayerfully consider taking an angel, pray for the child and his or her family, purchase and return an un-wrapped gift (value $20-$30) next weekend. For information please call Mary Jane at 613-747-0626.
Christmas Hamper Items
Food ornaments will replace the angel ornaments on the tree December 3rd & 4th. These items will be used to build the Christmas Hampers our parish delivers to those in need in our community. Please take an ornament or two and return the food items the next weekend or by December 18th at the latest.
The Outreach committee invites you to share in the shopping, organizing, and delivering of the Christmas Hampers. Please contact Suzanne Milburn at email@example.com or 613-830-0715 to volunteer your time. Shopping: Last minute shopping the week before Dec 22nd is always needed for fresh food items.
Organizing: December 22nd in the church hall from 1:00 - 5:00pm
Delivering: Divers are needed on December 22nd from 7:00 - 9:00pm
